Welcome to Faith

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, or ELCA. We believe in the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We trust the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.

We acknowledge the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (that is, the Holy Bible) as the source and norm for our teaching and practice. We confess our faith using the words of the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, and we also recognize the Lutheran confessional writings of the Book of Concord as the basis for what we teach and believe. Our pastors promise to preach and teach in accord with these sources.

When you worship with us, you will hear God’s word, sing praises to God, pray as Jesus taught, and be welcomed to Christ’s table to share in Holy Communion and the grace and forgiveness that God gives us there.

We believe that when we gather around the Word of God and the sacraments (baptism and Holy Communion), God is present with us through the Holy Spirit. It is this Spirit inspires and sustains us to live faithful lives of service to our neighbors. As Martin Luther explained in his Small Catechism, the Holy Spirit  “calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth and preserves it in union with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.”
